- Prices – Menu prices in effect 6 months prior to the date will be honored for all weddings. All other parties are subject to current prices. All prices are subject to 5% meals tax and 18% House Fee.
- Saturday Night Weddings – Add $2.00 to the cost of dinner for extra service and demand for Saturday PM Weddings.
- Hours – Daytime parties start at 11:00 A.M. and must vacate the room by 4:30 P.M. Evening parties start at 6:00 P.M. and go until closing at 1 A.M.
- Minimum Private Room Guarantee – A minimum guarantee of 100 people is needed to reserve a private room on weekend evenings. Minimum of 1,000 people is needed to reserve all of the Athena Ballroom. Minimum of 50 people for private room Monday through Thursday. Minimum guarantee of 75 people for Saturday and Sunday AM parties.
- All parties are responsible for payment of the guarantee, or any amount over the guarantee.
- There is an additional .50¢ per person charge for cake cutting service.
- Non-alcohol drinking parties will be charged $1.00 extra per plate.
- Massachusetts law prohibits liquor being brought onto the premises for distribution (example: liquor favors)
- The Venus de Milo will not be responsible for wedding envelopes (or cash) left in their possession. Gifts and gift envelopes are the responsibility of the bridal party.
- All items pertinent to the wedding such as knives, napkins, matches, favors, cookies, etc. should be brought in the day before the wedding, and should be labeled with both names.
- Your baker and florist should deliver your wedding cake and flowers as follows: AM weddings – arrival 9 to 10 A.M., PM weddings – arrival about 5 P.M. Venus de Milo does not have a place to store or refrigerate cakes. Cake items must be removed immediately after reception.
- As of July 2005, local fire codes no longer allow any open flames in the building for receptions and banquets, etc. Certain type of tea lights and covered candles may still be allowed on a case-by-case basis, but the use of most traditional candles is now prohibited.
- Any ceiling drapery and/or supplemental curtains brought in from an external vendor (florists, event coordinators, etc) MUST be flame retardant and provide a fire retardant certificate.
- Room decorations beyond our normal setup are not the responsibility of the Venus de Milo staff, such as assembling centerpieces, decorating tables, cakes etc. All centerpieces not supplied by the Venus de Milo will not be setup by the Venus de Milo staff.
- Final orders for most events are taken two weeks preceding the date of the event. Weddings should make an appointment to come in for final orders, whereas most other events, the final orders can be taken over the phone.
- Parties having both their double shower and wedding dinners here will be allowed 10% per plate off of the price of the shower.
- Specific banquet rooms are not chosen ahead of time, but depend on the party’s final count in relation to the size of the other functions that day.
- All items from a party or wedding must be removed by the party immediately after the function. The Venus is not responsible for any item left over in building after party is complete, or for any item not packed properly.
Deposit and Final Payment requirements & Cancellation procedures:
- A $500 deposit is required for all parties reserving a private room (except Pharmaceutical Meetings in which the deposit is $200). Weddings are required to provide an additional $500 deposit 90 days before the wedding. No food will be ordered or prepared until required deposits are received. All deposits are deducted from your final bill.
- Deposits are non-refundable unless cancelled 120 days before the date of the party and accompanied by original deposit slip.
- A second $500 deposit is required when transferring dates.
- Final payment for social banquets, including weddings, are due one week before the event, with any overage to be paid on night of reception. Any overpayments will be refunded on night of party as well. Final Payments for any other event are due in full the day or night of the event.
- There is a $5.00 per person cancellation fee for any weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) banquet that cancels within 120 days of the event. The fee will be based on your original approximation of guests attending.
